    Craughwell AC - most juveniles
    DSD - most juniors
    Crusaders - most seniors
Galway City Harriers - most masters

    Biggest club - DSD

How does this compare to last year, might answer the boom question :-)

I would say best to wait until the end of Feb, a lot of registrations would be 'in progress' at this time of the year.

Would be an interesting comparison to see how those numbers correlated to Championship medals/ participation ( don't have time at the moment but might be a pet project to pick up down the road :D)

    Year|AAI Reg
    Dec-16 | 58,296|
    Dec-15 | 56,533 |
    Dec-14 | 54,327 |
    Dec-13 | 49,388 |

The numbers for past four years are fairly easy to find on AAI site. Seems like steady (and sustainable) growth?

Be interesting to see the insurance increases for the AAI in line with these membership increases and whether there is actually as much extra revenue coming in as is usually thought or whether it in a similar place.

Interesting stats alright and a tale of Irish athletics in my view

Virtually no seniors/adults in the first named club Cwell? Largely a juvenile club with maybe parents or the very odd senior athlete as seniors. Wheres the conversion.?
DSD- great junior squad - can they progress? Seems to be a decent ladies group now
Cru- very strong and committed senior group and and see them travel in numbers to races , probably a good example of the running boom drawing in talented people with potential and making them into decent runners , not many like them
GCH - great juvenile/junior section, some of the best masters in the country, a huge F4L program, and no competitive senior section 20-35 bar one or two elites- where do they go? And why do they come back so late ?

You cant have it all it seems but some good examples here of whats great and whats a worry in athletics- will it ever be thus? !
