Rent supplement/ Housing assessement

    Just moved county and the application for RS was going well until just now I had word that they demand a housing assessment need that may take weeks.

    This happens each time I change counties and always a red herring. Going to be stuck for money if it is not sorted soon..

    Anyone else still getting this?

    It's in the list of requirements, either rent for 6 months and circumstances change or be on the housing list.

    Thank you. I have told them now. Had this in other counties and had to make a fuss each time.

    I asked one housing official why they do this; he said that they LIKE everyone to be on the housing list. That time it was held up 7 months waiting for the assessment and of course no money until that. Then I met a Welfare person at a Craft fair and she told me they were wrong. I emailed a complaint, it was sorted immediately AND I got the back pay of RS

    The person handling my application has never worked this before. I have referred her to the Inspector in my former county who handled my appiication there. Yes he tried it but briefly... i sent her the rules too..
