    Hi,

I'm thinking of setting up an online marketplace. I know of all the great ones like Amazon, Ebay etc... I'm just wondering what makes a bad marketplace. Would anyone have any examples of such sites? I just think there's a lot to be said for learning from others mistakes.

Bad marketplaces are ones where there is no activity and good ones are where there is activity. The only thing you need to worry about with a marketplace is how to bring buyers and sellers to it. Marketplaces range from the worst looking sites possible to beautifully put together websites. But as long as there is business occurring I'd label them as "good".

If a marketplace is bad you won't hear about it.

Search the term "Abandonware" and "Abandoned online market" OP ;)
