Picking subjects next week: Geography, Art, Engineering?

I'm having trouble deciding what to do for my 6th and 7th subjects.

Have any of you done art and engineering together?
If so, is there a lot of conflict in terms of doing projects?

I have done art for Junior Cert and got an A, same with geography. I didn't take up metal work for Junior Cert, so I don't know if I'd get an A. However, the engineering teacher said I have a good chance of getting an A, I do Arduino projects in my spare time.

Engineering and art sometimes have a conflict in the timetable, so if I can't pick both of those subjects, what do you think would be likely to give me an A?

Here's some drawings I've done in my spare time in case you'd like to see my level at art. I'm also very good at perspective drawing:

My gut is telling me to definitely stick with art, since I've invested so much time into improving, and I've already proved to be strong with it for the Junior Cert.

I'm up for doing geography at Leaving Cert, I loved the course at JC level, especially the Human geography section. Population, cities, etc.

However, engineering seems a handy subject to do in terms of college, if I happen to pick up mechanical engineering. Other than that, I'd be really excited to make a car or helicopter for the project. However, I'm not sure if I'd succeed at it. I know I'm good taking stuff apart and putting it back together, though I'm not fully sure about making something from scratch.

I'm leaning towards art and geography, just like I had picked last year, however if you have any warnings or anything please let me know. I've considered all the other subjects, and I'm either not interested in them at all or the teachers are a risky bet.

From reading your post I think art seems like a good bet for you. Engineering needs to be done to a very high standard, and people who've done metalwork up to JC level will have an advantage over you with regard to the practical elements. You're clearly very strong at art...have you considered DCG? It combines freestyle drawing with product design in the project.

I was thinking of doing DCG and even was doing some Solidworks earlier in the school year, around October. I was talking to a teacher and he was basically saying; it'd wouldn't suit to just do DCG if I'm already doing art. I mean why bother if I'm already decent at another thing.

    Thanks for the advice.

Statistically, you have more than twice the chance of an A in Engineering compared to Art.
Art - 5.2% of all HL candidates got an A1 or A2.
Engineering - 11.5% of all HL candidates got an A1 or A2.
