I had root canal work done over 10 years ago.It was very infected for weeks afterwards and truth be told it never really settled down. Now side of enamel has worn away .I know some dentists in UK specialise in safe removal of root canal teeth.I wish to have this done in Ireland North or South if anyone knows a dentist who does this procedure please pass on all details to me I would be very grateful.

Do you mean extract the tooth or re do the root treatment.
Either way see a Dentist , there are quite a few Dentists around who specialise in endodontics(root treatments).

When the root canal is removed, do you want the tooth to still be in your mouth afterwards? I.e. Take existing root canal out, clean and sterilise canals, then put a new, replacement root canal back into tooth.

    OR.

Do you want the whole tooth to be removed? I.e. The root is extracted, you are left with a hole in your gum and a space where te tooth used to be.

It is a back tooth so I would get it completely removed.Abroad I may not explain this properly they remove surrounding bone.I would think I would be unwise to get it replaced with a implant as the jaw and gum have been sore since root canal initial work was done.I had 3 very bad infections for weeks following the surgery my jaw was swollen red line of infection down side of face .

Ok, op you are asking about a referral to an oral surgeon for surgical removal of a tooth. You should first make an appointment with a local dentist who will advise you about the extraction and refer you if necessary.
