Tiling bathroom walls

    Hi Folks,
I'm getting set to tile a bathroom, two walls are going to be part way up the wall (about two tiles above the sink height) I've measured and set batons etc.and everything lines up grand and the top line runs neatly under the windowsill. Then when I come to tiling from the windowsill to the bath is where I've run into the problem, the line of the tile comes to 1" above the top of the bath. How can I get around this gap?? Do I cut 1" strips of tile? Could I raise the bath by 1" to meet the tile line? or could I "full" tile below the level of the bath and set /seal the bath against the tile??? I'll be tiling the "underground wall" set up. Hope this makes sense as I'm a novice but competent tiler :) also I'll be tiling the entire wall at the bath side if it makes any difference.

If its a timber windowsill, could you remove it, and tile it instead? This might mean the tiles under the sill wonder then be as skinny. You could even raise the height of the "tiled" sill" so that the tiles at the bottom of the window opening are not too skinny.

Read your post again, I would always tile 1 or 2 tiles above the window sill line anyway, looks better.

Hi Citroen2cv,cheers for your reply the height isn't really a problem. I can go two tiles above the sill but I started marking out from the door side (most visible part) and following the line of the tile around as far as the bath the tile is roughly 1" above the edge of the bath, it's that 1" of a gap that bothers me.

You need a seal on the bath, sealux is the best one,you cant have a one inch tile over the bath, you will have to re mark out the heights.your looking for a nice size tile over the bath, nice size tile on the bottom row, nice size tile under the window, you probally will have to go above the window cill and go around the reveal to get the best appearance

That's my problem/question. I'll just have to remark out the heights with a perfect tile along the bath edge first

Best bet is plan to have a half tile at the bath & floor if possible.

As was said, use a good sealing product around the bath.
