Issue with radiator

Hi, I have an issue with one of the radiators in my house. Basically it wasn't heating up. I removed the thermostatic cap and the heat flowed through, so I'm guessing that's the bit that's broken. Is this easy to repair/replace? Is it just a matter of buying and fixing a new one (any difficulties there?) or should I get someone out?

    Thanks

Maybe try it back on again.

On mine if the rad isn't adjusted for a while the valve gets sticky, just operate it a few times and it works fine, for a while.

It's easy enough to replace but you'll have to drain the system or freeze the pipe if you have access to it. Also you will possibly have to add anti oxidant when re-filling the system.

If you are unsure, get a plumber in.

Drain the system to change a thermostatic head lol, heard it all now.

I assumed you had to replace the whole valve fitting, is there another way? please enlighten us (without being sarcastic if possible) :)

Screw on new thermostatic head obviously.

Screw on new thermostatic head obviously.

    Or obviously not.

Op, the pin that's sticking out of the valve, gently push and pull it with a pliers then screw back the old trv head.

Obviously you are presuming that it's the pin that's the problem, may not be.

I'm at it 20 years now. It's usually the pin
