€400 144hz monitor

Looking for a good 144hz monitor for myself as a present for passing my doctoral exam a few weeks back but confused by the number of options around. Currently have a 7 year old Dell 24" monitor that seems to be nearing the end of its life.

I have a gtx 1060 6GB card and play a lot of shooters like CS:GO and Overwatch, hence the desire for a higher frame rate. I've looked at g sync monitors but they increase the cost a lot. Ideally i'd like a 27" monitor but i'll be happy with 24" if the quality is good. Thanks

27" I cannot recommend if you don't have 1440p, and at your budget they all lie around the 500€ mark if you want 144Hz.
TN vs IPS: Not very important for gaming and shooters. TN is technically a bit better due to the reduced input lag.

This would be your stretch target I'd say.

I think these are as good as you'll get. BenQ are known to be good quality.
AOC are the budget G-Sync option. (Agon is their new gaming brand monitors)
Acer and Asus are also really good.

benq XL2430 if you want what the csgo pros use

you could also wait for all of the 240Hz monitors that seem to be coming out lately


I play cs on a 150Hz monitor and you'll never be able to go back to anything lower


I don't know what is actually the best monitor out there but at the eleague major just gone the pros insisted on the benq even though alienware are title sponsors, that's why they had the benqs hidden in the boxes with the player names on the side...

I've seen the BenQ screens in person. They really are super vibrant and smooth. Would have gone with them only for having more money than sense

The AOC G2460PG is one of the best 1080 144hz gsync monitors out there.
I know from first hand having had a BenQ and acer 144hz 1080 beforehand.
Check out reviews, as a bonus colours are closer to IPS than any of the competition.
