Bird box, do I clean out or leave well alone?

    I put up a little bird box last summer, first time I'd ever done it, for the kids to keep an eye on it.

    It got itself a resident and we seen them coming and going regularly.

    Thing is, I don't know if I'm meant to ever interfere with such a thing? Do I need to clean it out or anything?

    Or will the next residents look after it?

    What time of the year will new birds enter a bird house?
