Hi folks, my wife gets carer's benefit. Is she allowed claim a PAYE credit from revenue for this? Home Carer's tax credit is €550 less per year and I'm damned if i'm going to pay more tax than we have to!

Is the carers benefit subject to tax? If yes then then she can claim a PAYE credit. If no then you can't/

Yes, it's subject to tax. We've been in contact with revenue and they seem clueless about anything that's more than standard PAYE jobs. We've been told a by 2 of 4 people there that you can claim the PAYE credit so we added in the credit online now.
