Airline Status Matching

Has anyone had any luck on status matching with various airlines? I've spoken to people who have been quite successful with this and others not so much. Are there any airline more open to the idea than others?

I've status matched to Alitalia, Turkish and Air Berlin. Turkish was the only one I kept up. I think they now do a status challenge instead of match.
