The landline is probably where your going to get your internet from, are you in Fiber area?
You can ring Err and they'll tell you what the line is capable of.

As for wiring, tap a shielded cat5 or 6 cable off the main telephone line where it's entering the house and run that to the main socket in the house. You can then send the internet all around the house to fixed points where ever you want.
Cable isn't that expensive you don't need an electrician as there's no power involved.

I would go copper with eir if you ever want to use the phone for business calls, the VOIP lines from Virgin are crap for international calls in my experience.
The copper line speed for BB is not as fast as the cable.
In addition, in the event of a power cut the basic copper handset will still work.

    Virgin media an option?
Run Ethernet cables from where you think the router will be to all the bedrooms or at least to the landings where you can plug in wifi extenders.

    Run cables for CCTV?

I'm getting broadband transmitted from a tower in a neighbouring village which will hit a 4g radio receiver on the outside of my house. I don't actually know the official name for this type of broadband but it's the only option in the rural area where I live (landline broadband isn't worth getting where I'm building). Nova and Imagine are two of the providers of this type of broadband
