    Hello,

I finished a job in the public service in December (I was there for a year), and started another public service job this month.

I was all set to claim the PRD deductions from my previous job back, but an admin staff member in my current place has advised me not to do so, because otherwise, revenue will look for me to pay it back when I leave my current job.

Could anyone advise me regarding this? Finding conflicting information online. I'd be very grateful!

Revenue aren't responsible for the collection or deduction of the PRD.

Generally it is non refundable. If anything is refundable, it has to be repaid by the Dept that collected it, that being your employer at the time.

This PRD is actually money that never existed - its a levy on public / civil servants. It doesn't go towards a pension in the future. It's a pay cut by any other name
