    Hi
I work in childcare and have to launder my own uniform with the company logo on it. I thought I would be able to claim flat rate expenses on this however when I speak to revenue it seems that childcare workers are not on the list for flat rate expenses.

Has anyone come across this? Is there another area that this can be claimed?

    thanks

the only expenses available in respect of laundering clothes is under the Flat Rate Expenses heading.

If you argue that you incur these expenses wholly, necessarily & exclusively in order to be able to perform your duties, you may be able to get some tax relief.

These Flat Rate expenses are agreed between the Unions and Revenue on behalf of certain classes of employees. Childcare isn't represented on the list at all though
