S40 problems

    Hi,

    I have a S40 2010 1.6d PSA engine.

    When I drive between 2 & 3000 rpm I get serious hesitation

    I get p1103 code also

I have had the DPF drilled out and both the DPF and EGR deleted from the ECU. I have replaced the MAF and the MAP and yet this still continues.

All filters have been replaced and full service. The car will go over 3000 rpm so it's not in limp mode but the pick up in speed is slow, and if you drop from 4th to 3rd there is no increase power

    Any help would be welcome

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I have a C30 but the same engine (1.6D PSA), 2011 production. It is made in Belgium. Since it is my second car I have driven only 20,000 miles until now. But, until now I had to change two injectors (believe it or not). They are Siemens-Continental production and after second change I went to specialized service and they told me that piezoelectronic part was broken. Nevertheless, the symptoms were very hesitating revs between 1,000 and 1,600 and of course info: engine performance reduced. Now everything is OK but I lost confidence in my car. I do not know if dirty diesel fuel is the only reason for this bad luck?

Not trying to be funny in any way, but did you get a proper diagnostic done by someone who knows what they are doing before undetaking any of this work? That's a lot of major surgery to have done and still have the issues persisting.

Any update on the issue OP, have similar issue myself, lost power on a journey, next day emissions error light came on. Next day it goes off for a few days. Did an oil service yesterday and today after a drive the emissions light came on.

Firstly, get it connected to a diagnostic system that will give live volume/pressure readings of the maf and map sensors, you need to make sure the volumes/pressure are in direct proportion to the revs/load. You might have a intermittent wiring issue.

If egr is also blanked off, my next money is on the vacuum pump or turbo actuator controller valve (located back of engine over driveshaft).
Disconnect the small pipe going into the turbo actuator arm and see if it revs different.

Update on my issue which I hope is resolved but definitely appears to be. Had the lost power issue twice this week, overtaking 2 vehicles I lost power and actually had to pull in, whole dash lit up before it died. Switched car on within 5 secs of the off and everything was normal again.
This morning however I accelerated from a roundabout in 3rd gear and lost power, it hesitated the whole 15km journey after that.
Ordered and fitted a new diesel fuel filter and the car appears to be transformed! Took it for a burn and it did not disappoint. Filter changed 2 years ago or 55K Km but would not have expected such a transformation. Going to pull apart the old filter and see whatsup.
