    Hi,

My Non-EU wife is on a Stamp 4 visa and applied in March 2015 for naturalisation. The last communication was at the end of July 2016, mentioning that if they won't request any more documents(they previously kept asking lots of times for updated docs or written statements to confirm everything is still the same with her/us!...relationship, job, no kids, statement of any wrong doings, illness benefit etc). The delay is unusually long, especially when I was reading that spouses of Irish Citizens have it easy....not in our case. She has been here since 2007 and has been in employment for all of that time. She has never had any convictions in court, and always paid whatever petty fines came in the post. Should we start asking a solicitor/TD for help?...I was thinking to give it 2 more months....

As a side note, there is no maximum processing time for us, while European Citizens with their Non-EU spouses(that have their 4EUFAM visa), can travel and return freely to/from the EU, and also exercise EU Treaty rights to demand a decision within a certain timeframe.

My wife applied December 2015, took the oath September 2016, which is about average.
