Yeah used it once and wouldn't do it again, wasn't happy with the results maybe other people would have a different view on it

There was another caustic gel out a few years ago. Was since taken off the market. Still use it here. I found it good most of the time but a few would grow anyways. Trick is to trim as much of the hair around the bud as possible then wear a good glove and massage it onto the bud only. We used to keep the calf in the shed away from it cow and things that can rub the gel off for a couple of hours to let gel work.

Used it once as well, never again. Anaesthetic and a gas dehorner is all I use now...far more consistent

Using paste for the last 4 or 5 years. Find it very handy. Just clip the hair back. Need to do them at a day or two old and they don't know what's happening. Tried doing them a bit older but they can scrape it off with their back feet

Use it here and it's 99% successful for us. Most of the lads I've seen complain fail to keep the calves isolated for couple of hours. It's good practice to save the cows udder from caustic burns anyway.
Polled bulls this year so happy days :D

My gas dehorner gave up, only 2 years old. Bought an express dehorner last night, hopefully it'll last longer

What brand were you using out of curiosity? Was it paste or gel? Can't remember the stuff we have but it's a gel in a little white container

I can't remember to be honest, was in a small white container aswell. They didn't all grow again but a lot of them did.

Just wanted to know as to not have the same trouble. Nothing worse than taking off regrowths. We've had about 3 or 4 in the past 6 or 7 years that regrew but we'd have the odd one after burning too.
