I guess you are talking about an FH but it makes no difference anyways. If you are standing on the toolbox looking down at the back of main boom, you'll see two kinda round things with hydraulic pipes coming out of them.
These are your swing/slew motor and your centre joint. Your centre joint is what houses the distributor seals. And it is as the name suggests,it is in the centre of the machine. The slew motor sits back towards the back of the digger towards the engine. Don't get the identification process wrong ðŸ˜႒

Thanks for your reply.. yes it is a fh. Would i be right in saying the centre joint sits on top of the slew gearbox?? Is it a difficult job to replace these seals??

Well, depends on what you are classing as the gearbox. Below the upper structure of the digger is the ring gear for the slew motor and that ring gear sits on top of the undercarriage. There is no gearbox in there although there is a reduction gear in the slew motor.
Simple answer is no it doesn't sit above the slew gearbox.
I attached a photo of the centre joint to the right and the slew motor to the left of the picture. The joint has 4main pipes on the top and the same on the bottom along with a case drain and 2 other pipes. The biggest problem and it isn't really a problem is to keep everything clean and marked up and plug your pipes while you are taking out the joint. It has a ring of bolts around it before it can be dropped out.

No bother. By any chance did you get a service or parts manual for it? I'm looking for both of them.
