    I have a Walker WP6500TTR.

Why when you select series link does if record the repeats of the same bloody show? This happens on RTÉ and TV3. What kind of an idiot system does that? So much for Saorview Connect when basic lego land recording can't even be managed, joke system. Typical Irish sheite.

Flashback, this series of posts from a few years ago comes to mind - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056788729&page=25

Either the broadcasters submitting the wrong info regarding repeats to Red Bee for metadata compilation or Red Bee assigning the wrong CRIDs to repeat programming. Looks like it's not a hardware problem but a people problem. As you say if they can't even get the basics right what hope for Saorview Connect. Amateurs.

I have one of these, about a month now, and thankfully don't have that issue. I have done about 25 recordings so far with no duplication, just checked the software version and it is 1.2, could that be an issue.

Yes running this version too. I'm going to try cancelling and resetting any that it occurs on and see if that sorts it.

That v1.20 is a fairly recent update. I checked in Nov or Dec and the latest was still v1.19 at the time.

I tried cancelling recordings that were recorded by the repeats and then re-recording again fresh and the result was the same, random repeats, bloody joke of a system if they can't manage a basic as fook system and then want to go in to a Saorview Connect interactive system.

According to Google this is a known issue or has been in the past with BBC, Sky, Channel 5, Virgin, Eir and broadcasters / IPTV providers in Australia and New Zealand amongst others.

So it is not a particular Saorview problem or even a particular Irish problem.

I have a Humax Freesat box and this has never happened with it.

In the way of things the internet would mostly only have reports from people with a complaint.

Again tonight it's recording the repeat of the Ray D'Arcy Show, whoy? Clearly whoever is inputting the epg data that the box records from is doing it wrong, how bloody complicated can it be?

Have the same problem on Virgin Media Horizon box too. Its worse because your schedule stored in the cloud in your account, so even if you delete a series it often comes back on a different box.

Perhaps they've added some code to prevent dups.

Yes in that case has to be RTÉ supplying the wrong data.

I think some of it is from the station, but a lot of it is sloppy programming on the boxes.

It's the same kind of sloppy programming that puts twitter links and HTML code on Aertel text. Whether it's lack on knowledge or laziness (don't mention cut & paste) I don't know.
