We're going to Riviera Maya for 2 weeks all inclusive. We'll only need to pay for trips , local public transport and entrance fees to different attractions. Not interested in shopping except if we need to restock suncream etc and small souvenirs. I've read loads of reviews on TA and still don't know what's best to bring, pesos, american dollars , euros or pay by credit card?
would be grateful for your personal experience and advice

Some US Dollars and credit card/ATMs over there would be a pretty safe bet I reckon.

    I took pesos only.

Most tourist things are priced in both dollars and pesos. It was mainly Americans who didn't seem to grasp they were in a different country and paid for everything with the dollar. Presumably getting royally ripped off with the exchange rate in the process.

You are going to Mexico and the currency is the peso so take that and you will be fine.

That's what I was thinking too but then I read some reviews about places that only accepted american dollars?! hope that's not the case

Pesos or dollars. You'll need some cash for tips and small items. You'll be able to charge everything in the resort to your room

I went last year, to Riviera Maya too, and only brought Pesos. Wouldn't bother with Dollars at all, they were accepted alright but with a crappy exchange rate.
