Hourigans motorcycles in newmarket co.cork usually have a few in stock.

They have a few in stock because they are not the cheapest to buy off.

    I had a gamberini
Great spread width. Is very stable. Fert can jump out when too full. No problems with mine. Kept it oiled.

Changed to 1/2 ton Atkinson. Spread width ok but must be moving at good speed.
Can be put on its side on rough hilly ground. Heavier even when empty.

To sum up. If it's large level fields Atkinson all the way. It will handle fair slopes ok.

Small fields or rough rocky Hill ground then the gamberini. Much slower speed necessary and almost impossible to tumble.

I have both ground types and thought bigger was better but I would easily go back as some ground now can't be spread.

I have a Walco 7 bag spreader i got off Frank Deane in Dunmanway.Dont have very high ground so cant comment on stability.Good wide spread @ 15 kph. I use the big bag dispenser so i do 2 big bags in 3 loads if im spreading a lot. Plastic hopper,Stainless spreading gear and painted galvavised frame. I have a Honda 500 and find find she has enough to do at times with the 7 bags if the ground is soft

Did you find the gamberini spread heavier to one side? Is there a more effective speed / setting / technique to deal with this?

This might be a problem with all single disk spreaders. I sowed silage here for years and it was not to bad. You must go round and round with the drive wheel to the outside of the corners. That way you always have a overlap of 1 light side 1 heavy side.

We have a vicon wagtail too and it's not used.

Does the big bag dispensor work well? Is it something that will last the hardship? Was interested in getting a walco as well looks a nicely finished product, but I have a 420 so might be under pressure from what you say

Im always nervous of the big bag dispenser if you got a bag that was gone solid at the bottom and dropped it down on it. hasnt happened yet. . In normal conditions with 5 bags onboard id hardly know it was on behind me. You will feel the heat off the bike with big loads.https://www.walco.co.nz/products/fertiliser-spreaders/

I'm also from Donegal and we have a Port agric spreader and would like to know if anyone has one and what they thought of them. I'm aware they are not making them anymore and that other brands are now replacing them.We have had many gamberini sowers in the past and we found their accuracy hard to beat for fertiliser and grass seed. They are also good and stable on our steep ground.

Our one is a good age and the hopper is still like new thanks to it being plastic. We did have problems with corrosion near the disc as expected but we got it fixed up since then. We still have an old gamberini 300 and the whole frame and hopper is totally rotted through which is a down side to them
