If you get a job whilst waiting on jobseekers

I've been waiting on jobseekers allowance since late november. After having to cancel one meeting and trying numbeous phone calls I dropped everything in, had the interview and have been waiting a furher 4 weeks. I have been applying for jobs left, right and center. And I have an interview on monday i'm very confident of getting. My question is, if i'm offered the position do I lose close to 4 months of back dated jobseekers allowance? Normally i'd write it off, but i've been borrowing to make ends meet and I kind of need that lump sum to pay for things like my car insurance and outstanding debts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seems kinda backwards and a disincentive if accepting a job would cost me what at this stage amounts to over 2grand in backdated payments. The job itself is only a 30hr contact at 10e and hour so it's not like I can say i'm walking into 5/600 a week and just forget about it.

If you get the job your JSA will be payed up to the date you signed off,provided you qualify for it.
