    RTE News reporting that it is the Hughes family that have bought the place. They plan to invest €50m in improvements.

    Well they own Hotel Westport which backs onto it. They have a lot of plans to utilise it that way. And the amount of grounds with it also. Ashford Castle/Lisoughrey Lodge approach?

    The purchasing family have a good track record in various businesses. Great to see a local family involved.

    A thought for the widow and daughters of the late Jeremy Browne. They made valiant offers over the years to keep that business going
