Much of North Kildare not considered a rent pressure zone - lunacy

FG have decided that Sallins of all places is a "rent pressure zone" yet Maynooth - with one of the biggest drivers of rental in the county - and surrounding areas aren't.

For Maynooth, there are 15 rental listings on Daft (in a town of 16k+students). 1 is a misplaced sharing advert and 4 are outside the urban area of the town - and this isn't under pressure? Insanity.

Maynooth falls into a category of a higher allowance for rent allowance then most of Kildare though .

Which makes it worse. They acknowledge it for social tenants not private tenants. And the rest of that area is considered a pressure zone.

Leixlip and Celbridge included but Maynooth isn't. Makes no sense at all. Another great job by our elected representatives.

Knowing that many of our elected representatives are landlords themselves, it would be interesting to see how many of them have properties in Maynooth or any of the other towns not covered.

Last register is so old it doesn't have the two FFers; can't find the KCC one to see if they had anything there.

Durkan has nothing declared bar his house. Murphy has no property declared at all.

I wonder if campus accommodation was included in calculations for rental properties in Maynooth. That might even explain it.

It isn't. Not a rental a random person could get

Maynooth added as a pressure zone.
I'd say there is an election on the way and FG would get eatin' on the door for having not included Maynooth.

Of the fact that two estate agents on the Main St in Maynooth are well known FFers.
