    Hi,
I wonder if anyone knows about an online map showing lands owned by a county (Waterford Co in this case)?
I tried Ordnance Survey map but can't find this specific layer.
    Any help appreciated!

Have you tried contacting your council and asking them?

Not yet, I would rather want to find it on the internet. I'm checking landdirect.ie

Wouldn't you then have to buy every folio available in the county?

There isn't one general one. Each county may have one available if you ask. Even then it'll get messy - my local council 100% owns an ALMCO for leisure facilities that has some land but won't be considered council owned; but it also owns land that is leased out for large remaining portions of 999 year leases so is completely uselss for anything else

I dont think you'll find that info for free on the internet. Perhaps if it was just one or two specific plots, you could use land direct etc, however a whole county? Even the old Ministry for Lands locations are entrusted to the county councils.
    It'll be a nightmare.

Even the council might find it difficult to list all their property rights.

If you can decide which properties you are interested in, things become a lot simpler.

Many of the state bodies (such as Coillte) will have folio libraries which detail these type queries- however, the problem is, in I'd suggest, a majority of cases- they are hopelessly out of date. Its far from unusual to find some folios from before independence- randomly in the middle of a current run- its just nuts.

OP- you are going to have to tie it down considerably- and you are not going to get this information free- though in general they will quote you a price before they invest effort in compiling the registry for you (as is their right under the Act).
