Magnet broadband, zyxel modem, signal keeps dropping

I have recently got broadband at home, service provided by magnet. Initially it refused to work at all, seemingly phone line not active. Eir were out to fix the telephone line yesterday, and all seemed well, i.e., I could now connect to the internet.

Within a few hours the signal kept dropping, my phone was registering that it was still connected to the Zyxel router, but there was no internet connection. This happened on another phone too.

Restarting the router seems to provide a fix, for a short time, then signal drops again.

Also a sidenote, don't know if it has any relevance, but the 192.168.1.1 (address written on back of box and in instruction setup leaflet) connection for router setup refuses to load.

Suggestions?
