Was searching for advice on kitchen design and found an article recommending software: http://www.livehome3d.com/useful-articles/how-to-design-a-kitchen
Looks like quite a decent app for that price (my connection's too slow for online services and professional tools are so incredibly expensive and seem impossible to use without special knowledge). Has anyone tried Live Home 3D? Are there any good alternatives?

Sketch up is free and it's amazing.

It has a 3D warehouse with lots of different furniture you can import straight in or you can just draw your own. The library includes all of Ikea's stuff which I find handy because even if I'm not buying ikea in that instance, i can use the stuff to give me a good idea of sizes and scales.

Thanks! Started downloading! Though I'm afraid I don't have enough skills for it ðŸ˜

Stick with it for a little bit and watch a few you tube videos. It's pretty straightforward, very intuitive.

With zero background in Sketchup or indigo renderer I was able to do these after about two weeks of watching sketchup and indigo tutorials. Everything in them is models downloaded from the warehouse except the wardrobe which I built myself to match the one that was in that room.

Wow! They are just like photos of real interiors! I still haven't found time to learn, but will try definitely!
