PS plus keeps auto renewing

Anyone else have this issue with PS+ auto renewing even though i had it turned off?

Since the PS4 launch and then the Pro launch i've had PS+. It's dawned on me lately that:

    1) I don't download the free monthly games - they are mostly crap these days IMO
    2) I don't really play online much these days - it's mainly single player games

Between this and general lack of gaming time i decided to not renew my plus subscription so i turned off the auto renewal option before christmas.

Low and behold last week i get two emails from sony telling me thank you for adding funds to my account and then thank you for extending my plus subscription. I called Sony livid to say that i had specifically turned this off so why had it auto updated. They apologised and the chap i was dealing with removed my card from the system and turned it off again. I wanted a refund but they wouldn't budge he said he understood but there was nothing they could do.

Can safely say i won't be paying for plus subscription again. Has this happened to anyone else?

    /rant

Not happened to me but if you have any emails or evidence you turned it off I'd be straight on to Sony customer service about it.

Do a charge back on the card.

Tell Sony their response isn't good enough, and that you will be doing a charge back - I think you've six months to do it.

Not only will your card provider eventually refund your money, but they will charge Sony a processing fee.

You'll need to explain to your bank that an unapproved payment was taken by Sony.

Doing a charge back will lead to a ban on your account.

With Sony, not necessarily. But, what's the alternative... let them discriminately take money out of your account?!?

Anytime ive seen a chargeback it has lead to a ban. Some bans will be lifted but it can take a lot of time.

Nowhere did i mention we should let them take money, just wanted the OP to be aware that if they do a chargeback theres a big chance of their account being banned and a lot of hassle to get it back.

Id keep following it up with Sony and try every other avenue before using chargeback.
