My kids used to go to the same school, the parents are currently combing St Anne's Park if anyone is in the area and has time to help out.

Post from the school on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/greenlanesns/posts/1191266797659418

VERY URGENT: Cian Zambra's mother watched him walk to the corner of Kincora Road this morning. He did not turn up to school. His schoolbag has been found on Springdale Road opposite St Joseph's Hospital. Did anybody see him or has anyone got any information. Call Cathy Atkin 0868337528 or Aidan O'Shea 0851410952. Thank You.

The Gardaí are invetigating and it seems the national press have the gears in motion:

Ah it was said kind of tongue in cheek but I do remember when I was younger going on the hop and hiding my schoolbag in bushes until I came back. :):)

If that was the case the poor young fella is going to be mortified now.

Delighted he's ok. I'd say once his parents calm down he'll be deeeep sh*t.

Kids can get away with nothing these days. Lad goes on the duck and within the hour it's in the national media!

    Different world.

Kids over protected nowadays as parents think there are paedos on every street corner.

We're raising a bunch of woosies for the future who have never played on the street, climbed a tree or fallen off a bike.

Me and 2 others put our school bags up in a tree in St. Anne's park before heading into city. We left our lunches in the bags. Came back later that day to find the bags in shiite.
Hungry squirrels had sniffed the food out and went to work.

    Good times!

What seems weird to me is they found his schoolbag on Springdale road - which is maybe an hour's walk from Kincora road.

    Glad he's home safe though.

Am i the only one who stuffed his bag into the locker at school before going on the hop?

Isn't there a national emergency thing if a child's life is in danger?
I presume they knew this wasn't a kidnapping from the get go and his life wasn't in danger.
Wonder did he just mitch off or was it family related.
Anyway, good he's safe and well.

Went on the hop once and we didn't even go into town or anything. We sat in the field at the back of school freezing and then it rained! Yep good times :/:)

Why wasn't an amber alert issued for this (or whatever we call it in Ireland)

Agree its kinda mad that a kid that's maybe bunking off can go viral but then you think of times when immediate public reach might end up helping: think of a kid like Jamie Bulger walking for hours past dozens of people that didn't realize something was up.

if he was , he won't see daylight till his 21st birthday!

Leaving his bag behind was a rookie move if he was mitching. :)

To those that wished for God to help and then thanked God for his return: I don't think devine intervention had much to do with it.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty confident in this case.

Ah it doesn't do any harm to bunk off every once in a while. Some good times doing that, can't beat that feeling of doing something harmless that you're not supposed to be doing.

Less so in situations like this though, obviously.

Wouldn't consider myself religious, but this sort of needless oneupmanship serves as a good reminder as to why I've been reluctant to engage with any form of atheist congregation

    Also, its divine.

Yea, that's the alert I mentioned.
It's only issues if there's a threat to the child's life.
Clearly the Garda / parents knew more to the story here and that no imminent danger was there.
To be fair, lots of kids go missing like this yearly, and nearly all are found safe and well.

Can't quote posts as I'm on phone.

Ah jayzuz, I shoulda put a smiley face on my previous post (re God).

It was a scamp mitching school(probably) and thought it funny (not just on Boards) people bringing God into it.

    (I'm not athiest btw).

How can ye all be so sure he was dossing school?
There could be any one of heaps of reasons for what happened today. Thankfully he's at home with his family tonight.

Mod-Seeing as how he has been found I think its time to lock this.
