Engineers report

Hi we have been told we need to get an engineers report from a simi registered garage in order to insure our camper with dolmen. We have rang around several places and can't seem to find someone who can do it. Could anyone on here recommend someone they got their engineers report with?

Does it not already have a DOE, or is it a classic camper

The doe is due to be renewed, its out this month but the insurance company has asked for the engineers report aswell as the doe.

what year is the camper?
is it factory built or home build ?
is it the first time you are insuring it with the company ?

It's a 1995. It's a conversion but has been a camper for several years and is registered as a camper. It's our first time insuring it. The guy that owned it before us had it insured no problems with Campion and didn't need the engineers report however dolmen offer a better policy that's why we want to go with them.

Any type approval place should do it:

Garages would be a lot less likely to say no if you called in in person with the form.

You could also consider the motorhome club instead of dolmen they will povide their own engineer.

I was in a similar boat a few years ago.
Ford dealer in cork who is SIMI registered filled out a form while doing the DOE, they didn't charge anything extra for doing it.

Get the form from the insurance company and bring it with you to garage. I had mine done in M50 Truck

Thanks everyone we found a test centre that will do the report for us when they're doing the doe. Can't wait to get on the road

We're going with north road commercials but I think any test centre would do it as apparently it's very similar to what the check in the cvrt too
