Finglas test center really has a bad impression , They failed me three times and always had a lame reason that i didn't stop at the white stop line at the last junction while coming back to the rsa test center and gave me a grade 3 and failed me twice with same reason . I've applied for the fourth time now and see if not i'll drag them to court for sure . they have made a business out of this . I spent more than €1000 including EDT and car rent for this driving license .

How did you continue to make the same mistake? Have you been going through the routes in Finglas with your instructor?

If you have done all your EDC with one instructor, and yet you still continue to fail, it might be worth considering a lesson or 2 with another instructor. Focused on working through your failed test sheet and routes in Finglas.

I don't know what you'd be dragging them to court over, you wouldn't have much of anything there to go on.

If you feel so bad change test centre but if you failed up there for not stopping the same will apply anywhere else.

Do few more lessons and a pre test.

My advice for finglas would be to actually drive something with a little more torque than your standard 1.2 petrol. That worked for me. Drive a car you have a low probability of stalling, and that you like the feel of, while also having good control, it makes a world of difference.

Route familiarity is also essential as there's a few dodgey spots, but nothing insurmountable. They're the same old suspects.

Observation is key, and they're a stickler for traffic lights and stop lines.

Thats what bothers me how can they give the same excuse twice as i took lessons from two different instructors and none of them complained about my driving. event hey are shocked to see the results . I checked the results and discussed with instructor but failed so i changed the instructor and explained last two failures and this time they failed me with a reason of not looking at my left shoulder. I am driving for more than 8 years in India and drove in Europe , UK and Aus never had a problem this is the first time i am applying for license in another country and having the worst time . And i took Lessons from ISM and airportdrivingschool which are one the best in Dublin

    I'm curious
do you feel that failing to comply with a stop line road markings or traffic signs is a lame reason to fail a driving test,

Or are you saying you think you did stop
    But received the fault.

You've failed twice for the same reason and you don't think it's your fault?

You are receiving grade 3 faults(dangerous) and you don't think it's your fault?

If you passed the test in another European country, the UK or Oz why not swap your license for an Irish one? You obviously drove in these countries but didn't pass a test there either.

Good luck with the court case.

Which junction is it? Most of the junctions near there are traffic lights. The only one that doesnt have a light is clune road and youd be taking that as a right turn heading back to the centre. If thats the junction and your not stopping its a problem as your crossing over a main road from a side road.

Just because they say they are doesn't make it the case. I've had pupils come to me demonstrating an array of fundamental errors which would and previously did result in a fail.

You MUST completely stop at a stop line. No exceptions.

    Try a third, independent, instructor.

I passed there first time at the end of November without a car to practice in and 20 lessons.

With respect, learn to drive properly.

This is a place to help and encourage other learner drivers, not to berate them when they have questions, or even frustrations to air. If you don't have anything constructive to say, then I suggest you don't post at all.

I am not against the traffic rules but against the invigilators marking for marking me at places where i did not made mistake. I did a dead stop at those white lines but as per him car was in motion.

Yes, its a clune road and i did stopped there as my instructor warned me before the test about that .

Stop and hold don't move right away.

Stop and count to 2 then move of if clear and also before moving look left right left and right again.

I've lost count of the amount of times students on a lesson would swear blind that they did came to a complete stop at a stop signs, even on approach I'd say what controls this juntion, pupil would say "a stop sign" I'd ask so what have you to do, student says "come to a complete stop" then they sail on out without stopping.
Student would be ademeent they did stop and that I must be wrong...
Playback on my dash cam soon shows them who's wrong.

Testers don't invent faults they only mark then

    Hi

I also found it was not sufficient to merely Tell a pupil they must completely stop at a stop sign but was necessary to actually observe and catch them "Stopping". I used to "dual" them and tell them "now we've stopped. Even had an argument with a young wan who claimed she was stopped. I pointed out if so my braking would have had no effect. She then immediately changed her story, she had stopped and was moving off again. But she did stop at all subsequent stop signs/lines.

had the same bad experience with them, blaming random things like observation, going slow, etc that they can mark you 5 times on the same thing with no proof, just to fail. I am very smart and know if I did a mistake.
I hope they never enjoy my money or spend it on happiness, failed many times without major mistakes, but just opinions and random marks on progress, observation. Took too much effort and time to get there, did perfect.
People here will try to blame you, many work for companies and agencies, and their job is to, I believe, defend bad things and calm the public.
