westmeath gaa footballteam in the 1960s

    iwant to find out about a national football league played in croke park in the 1960s.on that team for westmeath were dom murtagh the downs centre field tommy dolan was in the forwards from athlone pat buckley maryland georgie keane rosemount and the one and only mick carley mental hospital as was known then st lomans there was no televisions at the time i remember listeningon the radio mick o connel iam sure was on that team for kerrry i know its one for the archives iam surprised no one has a record of it.nothing coming up when i type in the message details westmeath in the 1960s.iam hoping someone here will know about the match i tried many ways nothing showing yours frank cassells cassells80 username

    thaks for your reply have you got any photos of the westmeath team in the 1969 when theyplayed kerry inthe national football league on the 11th may that year even if i could locate a photo of the same year perhaps when they played in the championship.could i get a report on the match the day after the irish press was in circulation then thanks for your assistance regards cassells80 very much a keen fan of the players in that era

    There is not much on the internet about GAA from years past. You would have to subscribe to a newspaper archive site to get access to newspaper reports.

    Or you could try the library in Mullingar or Athlone.
