So most of our windows are 2500 wide,
We are splitting that to 3 windows.

Our issue us that the windows are so big we either need to have use
    tilt and turn windows or
1/4 1/2 1/4 windows where the middle window is bigger and allows for normal hinges on the outter leaves.

The tilt and turn is €50 more per window, which comes to about €600 more.
I've seen them in industry buildings and to be honest always felt like they were ready to fall, I know they wont but they give that feeling.

Also Tilt and turn only open inwards so there goes having nice stuff on window sills. (Dont care if its clutter, its a home and meant to have nice things :P)

On the other hand how would 1/4 1/2 1/4 windows look, Would they look daft to the house design.

Attaching a pick if front design for reference.

    Nice house design.

Are you having MVHR? If so, it's probably very unlikely you'll be opening your windows, and if you did, it probably wouldn't be the large front windows, but a kitchen, bathroom or bedroom window. So the inward opening option might not be as intrusive as you think.

I think the dimensions look really good as they are. Can you update the drawing to see what the alternative option looks like?

Our kitchen window is about 2.9 and is split 20/60/20% approx. and it looks well. it's as important to have the width of the sections be in proportion to the height too. what you propose seems grand

Thanks, I also thought that, How often are the windows going to be open.

    Yea to MVHR.

@Borzoi Can you pm a pic, I'm finding it hard to get good ones off the net.

I've tilt and turn and have no problem with them. Whatever you go with just make sure you've them large enough to get out in an emergency. Upstair windows have to have a clear opening of a certain size to ensure escape. I'm sure the window manufactures and your architect or engineer already know this but it's something to keep in mind if this is a self build.

That chimney comply with current regs? Are all not internal now, with a flush gable?
    may be wrong
