    Hey guys,

My partner and myself are gonna be going to a holiday in barcelona soon and we're just looking for a few suggestions regarding things to do in the city. My partner likes museums, architecture, and we're also thinking of something new to do, something different. Thinking of going to the tibidabo amusement park and montserrat. The trip will be 4 days and 3 nights.

One question I have regaring the museums, I know it's probably not a good idea to try and visit all of them, which would be the best ones to definitely try and go to?

Main things in mind to go to so far are:

    -Park Guell
    -Sagrada Familia
    -Casa Mila
    -La Boqueria
    -Arc de Triomf
    -Aquarium Barcelona
    -Montserrat
    -Tibidabo Amusement Park

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks a lot boardsies. :)

Sagrada Familia is nice but book now for the dates you want. Best advice would be to get to the Camp Nou for football. Nothing is as Catalonian as Barcelona .

Is it really busy during March? We were looking to avail of the discounts included in the Barcelona Card so wouldn't we have to just buy tickets over the counter when we get there to do so? Which would be the better option?

Depends who they are playing against I would guess but ideally I would buy tickets in advance if possible.

If the oh likes architecture, Colonia Guell is a nice half day trip. Guell got loads of different architects to build up a model village beside one of his factories using all sorts of style and techniques. It's about an hour by train and is just outside the city fare zone. Gaudi also did an unfinished church there; they only completed the crypt which is amazing. As for Camp Nou, one of the tricks I heard was just rock up before the game and there'll be loads of members selling tickets from their block. I think it's recommended to pay only once you are in your seat. I'd look into that first before relying on my advice; I just bought at €88 and found this out later.

The Mies Pavillion is worth a look for anyone interested in architecture. You should also find walking tours or guides online for Gaudi related buildings around the city. There are some beautiful side streets off Las Ramblas to get away from the throngs.

As I mentioned on another thread, be careful with your wallets/bags/purses on Las Ramblas, its a pickpockets heaven.

I lived in Barcelona for six months and by far my favourite thing to do is hike up the mountain to Tibidabo. Also theres an area called Saria that is pretty nice to just walk around in. It can be reached in about ten minutes from placa Catalunya on the FGC trains.

Also be careful on Las Ramblas and in the El Raval areas as in my experience of living there these are the areas with the highest density of pick pockets. Along with the metro.

For transport the metro can get you almost everywhere and once you pay close attention to your belongings its fine :)

    Enjoy Barcelona!
