Whatever happened to the painting of the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies in the end?

He played a great part in a great series.
I find it amazing that virtually unknown actors can become famous in a part, and it must be that they are unknown doesn't distract us from the action.
If Rene was played by Michael Caine, John Cleese, George Cole, Bob Hoskins they would be good in the part, but their fame would intrude.

RIP and thanks for the laughs.

As a teen in the '80s I was so jealous of him.

Imaging shifting Vicky Michelle in the line of duty?:D

Had no idea he was gay at the time.

    Thanks for the laughs. RIP.

"You may wonder what I am doing".......

Every time you hear this line you know you are going to be laughing for the next half hour. Fantastic actor who brought so much happiness to so many people. Thanks for all the happy hours Mr Kaye. May you Rest In Peace.

I thought he died years ago when a tree fell on him during a storm. Obviously not.

I thought he died years ago when a tree fell on him during a storm. Obviously not.

He was severely injured by a falling tree, from memory it was in a storm and he was driving.

Loved him in 'allo 'allo. Ze fallen madonna with ze big boobies.

It was in the bad storm in Oct 87. He was driving and a tree came in his windscreen. The scar on his forehead was visible in subsequent episodes.

I hadn't seen Allo Allo for years but watched a load of re-runs on Yesterday channel over the summer.

    Top man, Gordon

    RIP

I never knew he was gay. RIP, loved that show as a kid. What an absolutely ridiculous premise. Imagine trying to pitch that show now. Fake accents, nazis, crude stereotypes...

Was it shown early Saturday evening before Noels house party or am I'm mixing up decades?

I've been watching 'Allo 'Allo a lot recently and still find it funny. The running jokes are my favourite.... as are the catchphrases...

    Helga: "BRING HIM IN HERE!"
Herr Flick of the Gestapo: "Helga, you may kiss me"
Officer Crabtree: Good Moaning, I was just p!ssing by.... I would like to buy some wonkles.
    René: You stupid woman!!

...the cracked vase with the big daisies...

RIP Gorden Kaye, hero of la Résistance

    Ah no, RIP.

I got really into that show a while back, it was being shown on Gold. They'd never get away with a show like that now.

    RIP.

The Gateau from the château had to be one of the best scenes.

Geering: You do not need to kill the General, we have already arranged to kill the General... Do you not see? That if we kill him with the pill from the till by making with it the drug in the jug, you need not light the candle with the handle on the Gateau from the Chateau!
René: Simple plots are always the best.

Was it just old age, or did he have a dicky tickerrrrr?

Rip to a legend. Loved that show growing up. Although I never could understand why the other love interest was that funny looking blonde girl with the squashed looking face.
