    Hey all,

I always purchase my games from Amazon.co.uk, however today I went to check and I noticed something I had never noticed before. You can now select Standard EU edition or Standard UK edition. I was wondering is there a significant difference with either does anyone know? (like can you play the UK edition on an Irish PS4?)
    Many thanks in advance!

Which game was it with those options? The difference between UK and EU editions could be small variations in the box art or similar. The game will be the same. Both are PAL, but this doesn't really matter as the PS4 is region free. All games should work on Irish consoles.

Hey thank you so much for the reply, the game I was referring to is Uncharted 4, thats great to hear because I was told you can't play say USA games on EU consoles and was worried they had begun releasing different regions for the UK and EU now too... Glad thats not the case! haha

Whoever told you that was telling you lies.

Region free - but... if you buy DLC for a game it needs to be from the same region as the game itself...
So if you say order a game from Canada and later try to purchase the DLC for that game from your Irish Sony Store you'll run into issues. - at least I did the last time I tried.

For Uncharted 4, if you click on the EU edition on Amazon it tells you:
    • Contains the standard PEGI rated edition licensed for sale in the EU
    • Gameplay is in English and the same as the standard UK version
    • Packaging and manuals may be in a foreign language
So purely cosmetic differences. The UK version is £8 cheaper though, so I'd go with that one ;)

some games can't be sold in certain countries such as a few WWII games to Germany

Standard U.K. Or Standard EU editions... so Amazon is getting ready for Brexit already :(

Thanks guys I got the standard UK edition :) I knew about PSN being region locked so I thought the console was as well. Wouldn't have been concerned with DLC just want this game already tbh haha
