Dock not showing when some app are being used

As I write this on my Macbook I cannot get the dock to appear when I move the curser to bottom of the screen when sing Safari. I have to exit to desktop or other app before it will show? It happens on other apps too but as I mainly use Safari I have noticed it more...

Any ideas on how to remedy this?

    thanks,

    frAg

Are you using full screen mode?

I've the same problem on numerous apps. Yes, when it's in full screen mode. Any fixes for this?

There’s a knack to it. Rather than just swiping the cursor down, you need to move slower and more deliberately. Alternatively swipe twice.

It’s a feature, albeit not a very obvious one, designed to prevent accidentally triggering the dock while say hooked up to a projector or something.
