Getting Nat Type 1 on PS4 with Eir

Hi folks, i'm having a bit of trouble with online games on ps4. Sometimes i have trouble finding a game and ping can be really high. I have eir fibre broadband and the router is a zyxel f1000. The connection used to be good but for some reason its messed up now. The download/upload speed on the ps4 is fine and wireless signal is 100%. I have tried port forwarding, dmz, lowering firewall, PPPoE but i cant get the connection to NAT 1. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
    Thanks

Do you have NAT 2 at the moment? If so, this is perfectly fine. NAT 1 is a waste of IPs and a possible security risk - you're directly exposing your device to the internet with no protection whatsoever. But if you absolutely must, set up a PPPoE connection on the PS4 and use the eir@eir.ie and broadband1 username and password.

If you have NAT 3 now, enabling uPnP on the F1000 should be sufficient, you may also need to drop the firewall down to Low from Medium. This should give NAT 2, which shouldn't give any trouble in itself.

Yep its NAT 2 at the moment but still getting lots of problems. For example when I start rocket league the first game will have my ping in the two hundreds. Thanks I will try PPoE with those settings. durtybit I know this eir router is pretty rubbish:mad:

Edit: unable to obtain IP address with PPoE on PS4

You need to put the router in bridge mode also. And just to be clear, what the means is that nothing, but the PS4, will be able to use the internet.

NAT issues will cause complete disconnects(for example between one match and another). It wont cause lag.

Unless you live alone PPPoE isnt an option.

I have uPnP enabled and the firewall is set to low but still no dice. I thought the nat settings can interfere with connecting to the most optimal server. On helldivers it wont let me connect to most of the games. Is there any other settings i need to take a look at?
