    Hi

    Looking for some basic advise:

live in a terraced house. Have a basic heating system.
There is a cylinder in hot press and gas boiler in kitchen.
Basically we switch on the timer when we need hot water or rads on.
All rads come on at same time and cylinder doesn't keep hot water for very long.
There is a thermostat in the hall but it doesn't work.

We have one electric shower and i was looking to put in another shower.
I'm probably going to go for another electric as the heating system is too poor to store any decent hot water.

I was looking at what is possible with mentions of back boilers etc dual systems.
We don't have much space in the house for any upgrades.

So i was wondering is it possible to upgrade my heating system to something half decent that would allow me to put in another shower (non electric) keep hot water in the tank and have some form of zoned control on the rads.

Looking for any pointers as to what is possible these days without ripping the house apart or building an extension to hold new boilers , i really don't know much about heating system.
so just wanted to see what was possible.

I have attached photos of current heating system.

Call Steven at Ashgrove, number on boiler, to have a look and give advice.

You have a semi descent boiler + insulated cylinder that should stay piping hot for 18 hours.

thanks, i was wondering what people thought of combi-boilers and would it be an option for me?
is there much of an overhaul to install one of these. We have piped gas coming in
the 3rd generation nest also looks interesting which seems to be able to remote control the water and gas separately.

I was looking for a good solution to get hot water when needed. ;Really just want to be able to heat the water without turning on gas in summer and also if using gas in winter be able to heat the water from it but not turn on every rad in the house
