Well folks, I've a 2WD Case 885XL that I'm looking to fit a front loader to as my yard is fairly tight. It will only be used for light jobs around the farm as I get contractors in to do the heavy work. Can anyone recommend a front loader to suit/for sale and the cost involved in getting one fitted at a garage? Thanks.

A quicke 2300 loader or similar can be bought for 1500 give or take..it's locating the specific brackets is the problem. But if you locate them they're not expensive 2nd hand for a tractor of that era. A few hundred. I suppose fitting and pipe work/valve chest could set you back another 1000.. An aul tractor with loader fitted is often better value..

    Like you said :)

    Are these the right brackets?

There's a fair few mile between them though. As you said, if you were looking for an excuse to change tractor, you'd be inclined to trade up.

I put a tan co loader on my 885 and it works away grand and plenty good enough. Bought with valve chest bucket and a bale spike for 750. 300 to fit it . I couldn't justify anything dearer on the tractor really, if it's going to run into 2-3k on top of your tractor then your probably better off changing and buying one with the loader fitted.

Thanks for your reply Willfarman. I didn't think fitting it would be that expensive. If I could get the job done for half that I could justify it as I'm not in a position to buy another tractor at the moment.

Sounds like you got a bargain there Who2! I agree. My tractor is in good condition with low hours so I'd be hesitant in selling it. Would 300 be cheap or could I expect to pay more to get it fitted?

Get one that came off an 885, pipes, brackets and valve chest, because if you end up buying bits it will get dear. There's a days work in fitting one if it came with everything.

A valve chest, cables and levers and the pipe work would easily run into 5 or 6 hundred euro.. That loader posted above is good value if the bucket comes too.. A bucket is 4 or 5 hundred euro.

Yes it seems bucket is with it. It as good value as you will get with the bucket. It's the pipe work and the fitting that costs money as well as the joystick. If you bought the loader you would get 350- 40/ for the bucket of you did not need it. He is looking for 1400 you might buy it for 1250.
