    Only the one meeting today.

In the first at Leop, Mullins's comments about Bargy Lady in the RP are unusually bullish. He usually doesn't give much away. However I think Toe The Line is worth a go.

Heartbreak City should have too much much for the rest in the Coral.ie Hurdle and looks well treated at the weights. Gladiator King could have a say ew too I think for A J Martin.

In the bumper bakmaj Looks the one having finished 2nd to a short price Mullins horse at Christmas. 15/8 now after a JJ Codds runner is declared a NR.

    Trixie and Singles
    Toe the line 9/2
    Heartbreak city 5/2
    bakmaj 15/8

Jelan in first but my main two bets are Space Cadet and After Rain in two big handicaps.

    Singles and ew Double.

Tony's horses have been dirt this season, so I find it difficult to take on the likes of Heartbreak City in a big open handicap at such a short price. Hidden Cyclone at 28/1 carries close to top weight but is a proven and experienced performer and has the excellent Blackmore taking weight off.

Backed Tudor City myself. Travelled very well into his last two races(2nd behind Thirsty work last time, he won easily yesterday) hopefully cheekpieces will get a bit more out of him off the bridle.

Backed All Blak 16/1 and Ice Cold Soul 22/1 this morning 6 places.

People burned there with odds on Capital Force in the 140pm, was miles clear in the straight and ended up 3rd.

Could have been costly as well for the in-running backers.

On course bookies betting to 130% over-round for the handicap chase. So much for getting better value if you go racing.

How do RTE continue to keep Tony O'Hehir as commentator? Dreadful in a finish

    Or else just use betfair?

Because its run on a subsidised basis with tax payers money. When your spending someone else money, its easy tolerate inefficiency, lack of accountability & poor performance.

Great, if probably unintentional line here...

"I feel sorry for Johnny (Moore) because he was meant to ride him, but Sean is the number one and when the other horse (De Name Escapes Me) came out he had to switch.

I wonder what was the other horse's name!!!!!!!!

Ha a comic genius at work? Or more likely an unintentional.

Same old today just cant seem to get past the winner on the run in. Cheekpieces definatly helped and he'll surely be winning soon. Tonys runners were in decent form today so maybe a sign that they are coming to the boil...

Anyone have any idea why Jonathan Moore left Rebecca Curtis, he seemed to be flying it with her.

There was an article in the RP a few weeks back on this subject, mentioned Moore having a young child back home so it might have something to do with it.

Didnt want to start a full new thread as it's only a small fancy but i think Welcome Ben's a big price in the 4.10, was an improved effort in 1st time blinkers and tongue time last time out on only his 2nd chase start despite the jockey going off too quick, if Brooke can judge the pace a bit better than kelly did the last day i can see him going close off 95 here.

Shame Fleming got his hands on the bumper winner Bakmaj, it'll be running in listowel in a few months no doubt couldnt train pigs to roll in ****.

I've no malice towards the man but he only seems to be able to regress horses. Bakmaj was a lovely winner on Sunday but all I could think was this lovely horse won't train on. How O'Connell hasn't lost the rag I'll never know.

Fleming is not the problem, its Connell. Anyone looking in can see that. Connell has input into every part of it and that all anyone needs to know. Its been a **** show for a long time before Fleming arrived.

Mossey Joe at about 11 years of age. Some shrewdie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 553 ✭✭✭morrga

When you spend 190,000 on Mossey Joe hard to see any sense in Barry Connell. Elishpour with the better ground and step up in trip really should have been far more competitive on Sunday off 121.

Whose his blood stock adviser Stevie Wonder? hes getting the piss taken out him for someone as shrewd in business and worth a fortune he really hasnt a notion about racing, 1m or whatever it was for Our Conor was his worse by a mile.

Didn't he pay about 3 or 4 hundred grand for Golantilla too?
I wouldn't like to be investing in his hedge fund tbh

Compared to some of his other purchases, at the time he bought this it wasn't shocking bad value, as a 5yo he had 5 years at the top and was a proper grade 1 horse. He was unfortunate of course.

All these lads paying 200k for Irish point to pointers are even more mad. Some of the point to point trainers must be really creaming it.

If a standard winner of an point is worth say 150k Our Conor is a bargain at 1m, as you could buy 30 of those pointers and not get 1 grade 1 horse..

Of course the whole market is just silly, and none of them are worth anything like those prices.
