Charities for donating old DVDs and Blurays

I'm looking for charities that will take and use old DVDs and Blurays.
I've around 100 I want to get rid of, including many "nice" box sets.
After volunteering in a charity I've decided I'd rather not give to one of the big "shop" charities like Oxfam or SVP but would instead prefer help out someone smaller that would use them rather than sell them.
Any recommendations for places that would take these and use them?

When you say "use" them, you mean play them? Because if so you're probably talking about finding charities relating to patient care or something like that. You could ask your local library if they accept donations, or check if your nearest hospital might have any use for them.

I'm not sure how much use is really possible for dvds & blurays outside of the above contexts, so I'm not sure you're going to find a small charity that would particularly benefit from this impulse.

If all else fails you could try doing a charity sale/auction and donate the money you raise to a charity you support.

Thanks, the above are exactly what I was talking about! The library is a good idea I hadn't thought about, I will try them.
Any other similar ideas would be appreciated

Depending on what sort of films they are some of the hospitals might be interested. If there are any children's films in the group you could offer them to the children's ward in your local hospital, St. Raphaels ward in Beaumont for example.

I got rid of my DVD collection a few years back to the local hospital, they were delighted to accept them.

Dropped a load down to my local youth club, they were delighted.

I chose to give them to my local library. I didn't know they accepted donations until this thread.
As a regular user of the library I was delighted to be able to give them something they could use!
