Luas fine

Could someone please help? I hopped on the Luas today without a ticket for the first time in my life because I had to catch a train that was leaving in 5 minutes, I was only going one stop, basically I was unlucky and a ticket inspector caught me. In my moment of panic I gave my friend's name and address rather than my own, which I am extremely ashamed of. Obviously I will pay the fine no problem I wasn't trying to dodge it, honestly I've no idea why I gave the fake details, but I just want to know do they mail you anything about the fine before the initial 14 days pass? I know I deserve the fine but I can't afford to pay the €1000 euro fine for giving fake details, and I'm on CCTV so my friend would know it was me instantly if she was shown the video. Thanks in advance for anyones help!

I got a fine once (successful appeal which is rarer than a planet killing meteior) my recollection was you get paper letter much later I only got one when the appeals stuff started and much of my back and forth was by email

They should have given you a slip with a number or code on it?

You can go online with that and pay with visa debit anytime then just explain things to your friend

Luas won't know or give a toss as long as it's paid

If you didn't get the slip or don't have it now call Luas revenue protection give the name and address you supplied tell them you lost the slip but want the code so you can pay, then go onto the site and do it

The debit card name (which I don't even know if they get) doesn't have to match the fine record name since mammys and daddy's and sisters pay for family members all the time

The mega fines are only after you're taken to court and convicted months down the line so as long as you get it paid you'll. be ok
Then get yourself a leap card with autotopup !!!

Possibly the best thing to do immediately is to contact your friend straight away ant tell him/her the mistake you've made?
