I'm a bird lover living in Kilcock, Co. Kildare. I've noticed on my regular walks through the local gaa that a number of hedgerows have been removed recently. They've even removed a number of very large trees including an ash that was about 20 metres in height.
Seems there has also been planning permission submitted for a new housing estate behind it that will result in damaging or even removing a large hedgerow listed as very important in the local development plan. Any ideas on who I can get in touch with in regards to this. Kildare already has a shortage of hedgerows to support our native wildlife. Surely they can't go on removing these wonderful habitats.......

A quick google indicates Kildare County Council have a Heritage Officer, so it would be worth getting in touch with them!

That have also destroyed the canal bank at Kilcock courtesy of Waterways Ireland, absolute disgrace, concreted the canal walk & have mounds of clay at the side, so much for the birds, trees & other flora & fauna
