Sign On Day

    Hello

I was told that my sign on day was Tuesday 2nd February but 2nd of February is a Thursday. I rang them today and they acknowledged a mistake but were not really sure when it was. The person then told me 28th of January, of which I said Ok and then ended the call. The 28th of Jan is a Saturday. The 28th of February however is a Tuesday.

This will be my first time signing on in a long time and 28th of February seems like a long time since I went back on to Jobseekers at the start of December. Is this normal practice now to have drawn out sign on dates?

I know everyone is different but it seems a bit odd. I have not received any written confirmation of the date.

I'd email someone and get it in writing that way they can't cut you off as you have written confirmation

If you're collecting your dole from the post office, it usually states your next signing on date at the bottom of the receipt. If they have your mobile number, you'll probably get an automated text message a day or two before the signing date as well. If in doubt though, phone them again or pop in and see them. They won't bite! :)
