BT to charge for BT Sport from August

    I see BT will begin charging broadband customers £3.50 per month for BT Sport from August, wonder will Eir follow suit here?
    From August, BT TV subscribers will pay £3.50 a month for BT Sport, which has been free for broadband customers.

    I'm sure I read somewhere before that Eir's Free BT Sport offer lasts till end of 2018. Will probably start charging from January 2019.

    Eir love copying BT so they surely will. Though it will probably be a lot more than €3.50

    They already have been charging BT Broadband users for the whole BT Sport pack, have been since August 2015. Only BT Sport 1 in SD (aka "BT Sport Lite") has been included since then, the other channels were an extra £6pm.

    What the article actually says is that BT TV subscribers - i.e. those taking BT's IPTV package - will now have to pay extra for BT Sport.
