    hi,

    i have old word processing documents on my hard drive going back to the 1980's.. Many are no longer viewable. is there any way, i can view these old files?


    Also, after updating to current iPhoto, old photos are missing, hopefully these are hidden, rather than deleted. Any ideas?

    wow, been a while since I did anything with that, you are going to need an old mac with Clarisworks, or perhaps it could be done with sheep shaver http://sheepshaver.cebix.net

    Once in claris works it could be copied into word or a txt file. but there's no mass conversion tools, not any more anyway.

    Its a good bit of work I'm afraid.

    Software does not exist I'm afraid, there used to. E translation software called maclink plus deluxe, it was only for Mac OS 9. And didn't always translate Macwrite docs, there were two versions of macwrite. V2 had better translation chances into AppleWorks and once there it could be copied and pasted into word.


    As advised my solution is your only sw option and the only one I would use as reverting back to a mac plus with floppy disks will take an age!
