Civil Service Test

Hi there,

So I can see theres a number of threads here about civil service competitions at the moment. I am wondering is there any still open ie temp clerical or admin etc?

I am still in college and thinking of joining when I am finished. Basically, I am looking to apply to them to see how I get on with the tests etc to see am I suitable for the civil service for when I finish college.

I did sign up for alerts last year after the temp clerical officer one ended but I never got any new alerts about jobs. Only saw them when I came on here. I went back to the public service website and signed up for all the administrative job alerts but it isnt showing any as available.

Are any of them still open? If not, is there anywhere online I can see the exact process? Different stages and interview questions etc. Also the tests that they make you do. Thanks

Clerical Officer, Executive Officer and Administrative Officer have all closed applications.

Log into your publicjobs.ie account and check which email address is tied to your account. Also, check that they didn't end up in your spam folder (the email address is info@publicjobs.ie). If that doesn't work - log in and look at your job alert categories and change them to ones that suit what you're looking for. That should work! The ones I have are:

Graduate and Trainee / Junior Management: Graduate Opportunitiees
Administrative: Clerical

Sorry I couldn't be any more help! At least the competitions will probably reopen after you graduate!

I get alerts alright but they are all for more senior positions. I was only signed up to clerical officer but now signed up for all other administrative roles. Not sure why I didnt get the temporary clerical one.

Are these for the summer roles ya? Or can it be any start date?

In the weird world of the Irish public service, "administration" jobs often are quite high-up.

Focus on clerical.
