Changing jobs but getting a reference

I've been at my current role less than 12 months but i'm thinking of applying for another job.

Its not that there is an issue with the role, I just don't think I fit the company.

Plus this new job would be a step up in pay and slightly different responsibilities.

My question is about getting a reference from my current job, there has never been any issue but i'm wondering would things go sour if I handed in my notice, I would like to use them as a reference but realistically, would this still be possible?

They'll probably give you a standard reference providing you give prop notice.
If it's good for you I wouldn't worry about how they feel about it.
