Fibaro Relay and Switch

I have been reading up on Fibaro relays and trying to get my head around a few things. There is a dedicated Fibaro forum but I thought I would try here first.

Anyway, in the below diagram does this circuit work like a typical 2-way + intermediate switch with the addition of remote Z-wave control?

Does any switch turn on and off the light?

How does it work- Does the relay turn on/off when any switch is turned on/off?

Does the relay detect a small current from S1 through N in the relay and use that to trigger turning on the output?

Can the 2 switches on the right below be ordinary intermediate and toggle switches that you could pick up in any decent electrical store (i.e. non Z-Wave switches).

So having googled how a relay works (why didn't I do that beforehand) I think I can answer my own questions with a yes in all cases.

In fact I see no reason why all 3 switches can not be the same as used in a regular 2-way + intermediate circuit.

Fibaro's relay requires a "neutral" at the switch which is not always the "norm" in Ireland but perhaps is in your case.

Therefore in my case I had to use Fibaro's Dimmer2 module instead as this can work without a neutral.

Then came the issue of 2-way and intermediate switches. Have a look at my prior thread:

No solution so far without workarounds...For 2 way I have sacrificed a wall switch which was achievable as one of the switches was rarely used. For the stairs/landing lighting (intermediate) there is 4 switches used and I have not tackled that yet...still hoping for some magic inspiration...:pac:

I'll have no problem fitting a neutral as it's a new shed I'm building. I'll also have plenty of room as there will be a battened cavity behind my inner wall.

I actually replied last night to the same thread you raised on the Fibaro forum. Haven't read your thread here in full yet.

Just an unrelated question you might know the answer to. What is the minimum equipment you need to get the relay to work with your mobile phone. I know you can install software but do you still need a wifi hub unit to generate the Z-Wave signal.

You will need a controller e.g. Vera or Fibaro HCL or HC2, there are possibly others but those seem to be the most common.
